Center for Adult Psychiatry, P. A.

I create working partnerships with patients to help them reach not only control of symptoms, but also their desired level of functioning in multiple dimensions of life.

Magdalena M. Wojdynska, M.D. received her medical degree from Medical University of Warsaw, Poland, where she also completed two years of residency in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. She left Poland prior to completion of her training and immigrated to the United States. Due to her interest in the mind-body connection, she pursued residency in psychiatry and completed her training at Duke University and at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

She has been in private practice since 1994, combining expertise in psychopharmacology with her experience in internal medicine and endocrinology. Dr.Wojdynska initially specialized in women's mental health, mood and anxiety disorders. Her work with women led her to the realization that many of her patients suffered from undiagnosed, and thus unaddressed, lifelong problems with attention. Over time, Dr. Wojdynska became an expert in the field of adult Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.

Dr. Wojdynska applies an integrated approach to patient care working closely with providers in various specialties to assure that treatment plans are tailored to patients' individual needs.

Recognizing that medication provides only temporary and partial control of ADHD related symptoms, Dr. Wojdynska became interested in lasting results of Neurofeedback, and, to learn about it, she completed the EEG Biofeedback didactic training through the ADD Centre, Biofeedback Institute of Toronto in 2005. In the same year she opened the Institute for Personal Excellence, P.A., a Brain Fitness Center to offer adults and children the opportunity to learn to regulate their own brains.

In addition to continued focus on her full-time private practice, Dr. Wojdynska continues to search for new science- and research-based tools which aid people in various stages of life to gain the sense of control, and to reach and to sustain full emotional and intellectual potential, leading to a more lasting improvement in their overall state of being.
